S:WASH/D:RIFT

Interdisciplinary performing arts project working with local singing, dance, swim, geology and beach communities to explore coastal geomorphology between Hythe & Folkestone, employing chalk, sand, salt, pebbles and clay as the basis for all our activities.

PERFORMANCE EVENTS

BONE TO STONE

An immersive performance that examined the process of fossilisation employing music, voice and dance to capture the qualities of bone & mineral in slow change.

LONGSHORE DRIFT

A long-form PROMENADE where communities and professional performers re-enacted this local exchange of energy between tide and beach from Hythe to Folkestone.

DRIFT: THE LAYING DOWN

A huge performance event that featured NEW choreography, choral work, theatrical responses, installation and film. Together we unearthed unstable minerals & trespassed into the hidden cavities of our natural coastline.

A heap of ARTS ACTIVITIES designed to open up the wonder of local geomorphology and our ever-changing landscape.
